The Welch family moved from Boca Raton, Florida to Brussels, Belgium on Oct 23, 2005 for a two year stint with James' company, Deloitte & Touche LLP. This hopefully will track the many journeys we hope to take while we're here and the little adventures along the way...

The wearing of the white, I mean green

What a non-green St. Paddy's Day. I took the kids to play in the snow and Saoirse is a Florida girl, she screamed when she was in the snow. But she liked hanging out on the porch licking snow off the patio furniture. Ciaran and I made a "low-fat" snowman/bird feeder and helped GP shovel the walk. All in all fun, but still glad we're moving to Florida!

St. Paddy's Day March 2007

These are actually from today, the 16th. There's a snowstorm going on and the parade tomorrow is already postponed, so we decided to go to the Irish American Home Society for corn beef lunch and some music. The kids enjoyed the music, and the adults enjoyed the Smithwicks!

More fun

Saoirse liked putting sprinkles on the cupcakes, so much so that she tried to eat them out of the jar.

Ciaran was thrilled to use the rolling pin, granted this was after the cookies were done, but it kept him occupied for a good 10 minutes.
Attempting to put green sprinkles on the cookies.
Another proud chef!

Keeping Busy

With all the crappy weather we've been having in CT we're trying to keep our cool and have the kids stay occupied. They have busy weeks (though not busy enough) with My Gym, the ECC, the library, play dough (thank you Becki for that great tip!) and even some baking.
