The Welch family moved from Boca Raton, Florida to Brussels, Belgium on Oct 23, 2005 for a two year stint with James' company, Deloitte & Touche LLP. This hopefully will track the many journeys we hope to take while we're here and the little adventures along the way...

Christmas in Orlando

ok, I forgot to rotate these two pics, but Ciaran got a golf set for Xmas and we're hoping he'll stick with it. Saoirse below, looks like she's ready for field hockey.

We took the kids to the Princess Breakfast at Epcot and as you can see Snow White is planting a big one on her little twin.

We celebrated Ciaran's 3rd birthday a little early so he could have a real party. Friends and family came for pizza and cake and it was nice to see everyone after so long, especially James' nephew Michael Sean whom we hadn't seen since he was 12 and now he's 20!

Lori is cleaning up Taylor after Saoirse fed him some blue frosting which he spit out, to which she then ate herself (gross I know). You can see the evidence on her mouth and his shirt.

All the boys gathering around the birthday loot.

Family photo before the icing, presents, etc. See how happy we are in shorts and flip flops?! This trip reconfirmed why we can't wait to move back to Boca. 10 months to go!

Sound & Light Show, Giza

The photos don't do this justice, these are Elaine's, as they came out much better than mine. We went twice and it's worth it, especially if you skip the cheap metal seats and sit at the cafe which is elevated and order some drinks and crisps.

More of Cairo

This brave man sitting next to Ciaran is Hassen Amin. He was our guide we hired from our hotel. We highly recommend him if you are in Cairo or around Egypt as he knows everything about everything and is very patient with kids, and mine are the benchmark on patience! He can be reached at hass_rock50@yahoo.com (there is an "_" inbetween hass_rock). Thanks Hassen!!!

Hassen took us to the bazaar which is interesting but you get harassed by the merchants.

This is taken in the oldest coffee shop (not like the ones in Amsterdam) in Cairo; it's 250 years old. It's something out of an Agatha Christie novel. You can also smoke hookahs there, though from what we smelled it was fruit flavored tobacco.
