The Welch family moved from Boca Raton, Florida to Brussels, Belgium on Oct 23, 2005 for a two year stint with James' company, Deloitte & Touche LLP. This hopefully will track the many journeys we hope to take while we're here and the little adventures along the way...

Last night

The top of the hill...

All dressed up and nowhere to go (except a playground)

This is the best we could do to get them to sit near each other - they're all dressed for their last Greek meal, and an hour at the hotel's playground.

The "chairs" as Ciaran calls this. Very close to "cups" how neither of them threw up after all that spinning is beyond me.

The swings - I should start another blog with "playgrounds across Europe."

Throwing rocks

Who knew throwing rocks into the water could kill two hours. For Ciaran this is a day's worth of entertainment, not so much for Elaine who got sucked into joining him and collecting rocks.

Saoirse liked to pick them up and put them in a cookie box, and eat some random stuff scattered around.

Future shot putter?

BBQ Boat Excursion

We took a boat trip for an afternoon of sun and what turned out to be water as cold as the Atlantic (bbbrrrr). Thankfully the sun was out and the BBQ lunch was yummy.

Saoirse was coaxed into the water but wasn't a big fan of the life jacket or the cold water.

This is Ciaran crying before we went in the water - he didn't want to wear the life jacket so I let him hang on to me and the ladder on the boat.

Mylovos, Lesvos, Greece

Our good friend Elaine came to visit from NYC and we just couldn't make her suffer the cold, rainy Belgian weather so she agreed to take a trip to Greece and help with the kids. What better friend could you ask for (especially with these two).

There are cats all over the island. I think you can even adopt kittens as souvenirs. Ciaran was having fun with this one that jumped into the buggy basket.

View of the castle from the harbour. We pushed the double buggy up and down that hill every day - doesn't look like much but it took two of us sometimes going uphill.
